The Allfarthing PTA
We are very proud to have an active parent and carer community supporting the school at Allfarthing. The PTA exists to bring staff and parents together to organise events and activities that help to raise funds for the school, as well as providing a social setting that helps to build the school community. The PTA organises large fundraising events, such as the Christmas and Summer Fairs; events aimed at community building, such as the Nursery and Reception tea parties, school discos and the Summer BBQ; in-school events to mark specific occasions, such as the Mother’s Day stall; and other more educational projects such as the annual ‘Grow Your Own‘ project.
Through our annual fundraising we are able to offer the school approximately £15,000 of additional support per annum and this is spent on the following:
2 whole school events (such as the Christmas pantomime);
2 trips for each year group per year; and
1 topic or developmental related activity for each year group.
Extra funds raised are used for one off projects such as the purchase of a set of iPads in 2015, and money raised through the school Wren Club is used to support the literacy needs of the school (books, magazine subscriptions and electronic literacy material). If you would like to read the full policy on how the PTA provides support to the school please see attached pta-school-support-policy-sept2016
There is a PTA notice board in the front playground (next to the main exit gate) with information on what’s going on throughout the year. We also have a Facebook page and a Twitter account:
