We are very proud to have an active parent and carer community supporting the school at Allfarthing. Our PTA Committee specifically consists of up to 8 parents (plus teacher representatives), but we have a much wider group of parents who are crucial to the work of the PTA, be it as a class rep, an ad hoc volunteer or helping out at our regular events.
Being involved doesn’t have to take up a huge amount of time, but the more involved parents we have, the better school community we have. Maybe you have a skill that we could call on for one of our events, or perhaps you could volunteer 30 minutes per week to join the Reading Squad.
You may also want to join your child on school trips throughout the year. It’s a great way to get to see the school in action and to spend the day with your child and their class. In order to be able to do so, you’ll need an up to date DBS form (Disclosure and Barring Service – previously known as a CRB check) so it’s a great idea to apply for that as soon as possible. Alex Warren, the schools’ receptionist, can give you the appropriate forms / guidance on how to do this.
So if you want to get involved in any way, do please get in touch!
